When in Moalboal, Cebu City

HELLO SUMMER 2014

For my summer starter, Moalboal is the perfect choice for this very hot month; with it's beautiful

KAWASAN waterfalls in Badian

and BASDAKU white sand beach resort.

Moalboal is 2-3 hours away from Cebu City. To get there, you can take the CERES BUS or the V-hire from the South Bus terminal near Elizabeth Mall located in Sanciangko St., Cebu City. If you do have motion sickness, I suggest you take bonamine before starting the trip because the road going to Moalboal is a little curvy. But I surely assure you that the place is worth the ride.

We traveled to Moalboal last Saturday (April 26, 2013), evening. We  reached the South Bus terminal at around 6:30pm and started the trip at 7:00pm. In the place called Minglanilla we were stuck in the traffic for more than an hour. To God be the Glory we arrived safely even if it's already late. and thanks to our friend who patiently waited for us and fetched us at the bus stop.

The next day, we woke up at 6 o'clock in the morning. Started packing everything for the long day ahead. Everything is set and we are ready to go by 8 o'clock in the morning. Kawasan Falls is 15-20 minutes away from the town proper of Moalboal via bus (Php18 per person) or a motorcycle (Php300 per motorcycle). Lucky for us we don't have to commute, thanks to a friend again. :)

In Badian, I've seen the longest banana ever.

To reach the Kawasan Falls, we had to walk from the highway for 10 minutes. They have an entrance of Php10 each per person and children below 7 years old are free.

A sneak peek on what we saw while we are on our way going to the heart of Kawasan Falls.
FACT: They have hydroelectric power plant that produces electricity which they actually use in their town.

And so we arrived, in the first stage. The place is filled with so many people since it was weekend. A lot of families and friends are spending their quality time together. Swimming, laughing, joking around while enjoying the perfect view of nature.

But the trekking doesn't end there, we continued going up

and up

until we reached the top!

We swam, had lunch, laugh, silly around and everything. After 2 hours we've decided to go down and start moving to our next destination, the Basdaku Beach Resort. From Badian we went back to the town since Basdaku is not so far from Moalboal proper. Again, to go there you have to take a bus. There's a bus from Badian that takes people to Moalboal for FREE, the Lebrando Bus.

ALAS, we reached the beach! Though I'm not that good in swimming, I still love the BEACH a lot! :)

This resort is not so expensive you only have to pay the Entrance fee for Php 10.00 only while cottages are for Php 300.00 day use. If you want to stay overnight you could bring your tent and make a camp just along the shores. Or if you want to stay in a more comfortable place, you can check-in in a nice hotel. There are few hotels in the area which you can choose. We didn't stay for too long in the beach since we still have to go back in the city on that day.

To wrap things up, indeed it was a beautiful day. Tiring yet full of fun and adventure. We're not able to do all the things we wanted to do. So we're definitely going back and do Island hopping and dolphin watching. Moalboal see you the next time around.

More beach, white sands, sun, fun and adventure coming up.
